Fernando Vina is a retired American professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball and is currently an MLB analyst for ESPN. He was born in Sacramento, California. Vina took his college studies at the Arizona State University. Throughout his eleven season career in the major league, Vina played as second baseman for several teams; the Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals and the Detroit Tigers.

Vina’s major career highlight during his playing career was playing in the 1998 All-Star Games and being a two-time winner of Gold Glove Award in 2001 and 2002. Vina’s final game came on May 11, 2004 with the Detroit Tigers.
