Felix Heredia is a retired professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball and usually appeared in games as a starting pitcher. Heredia was born in Santa Cruz de Barahona in the Dominican Republic. Heredia is currently playing in the Mexican League although he did appear in the MLB from 1994 all the way to 2005.
Heredia went to Escuela Dominical of his hometown of Barahona and got the attention of MLB scouts. This led him to be signed by the Florida Marlins as a free agent during the 1993 season and was assigned to its minor league affiliates before calling him up to the majors in the 1996 season. Heredia was with the Florida Marlins team that became successful in their 1997 World Series bid.
He was traded to the Chicago Cubs together with Steve Hoff in exchange for Kevin Orie, Justin Speier and minor leaguer Todd Noel. Heredia played for the Cubs for a total of four seasons before being traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2002. After staying for just one season, Heredia became a free agent and signed with the Cincinnati Reds. Before choosing to play in the Mexican League, Heredia first played for the New York Yankees, Arizona Diamonbacks and the Cleveland Indians.
