Esa Tikkanen (full name: Esa Tikkanen; no nicknames) played left wing from 1985 until 1999 for the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, New Jersey Devils, Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers and Washington Capitals. He played for the Oilers from 1985 - 1993, Rangers from 1993 - 1999, Blues from 1995 - 1996, Devils in 1996, Canucks from 1996 - 1997, Panthers in 1998 and Capitals in 1998. Over 14 seasons, he played 877 games, scored 244 goals, and made 386 assists. Born in Helsinki, Finland on January 25, 1965, Tikkanen stands 6-1 and weighs 190 lbs. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 4th round (82nd overall) of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Tikkanen officially announced retirement on April 19, 2001.
