Ersan Ilyasova is a professional basketball player who hails from Eskisehir, Turkey. He was born on May 15, 1987 is listed at 6 ft. 10 in. and 240 lbs. He began his professional career in the Turkish League where he played for the Ulkerspor for the 2004-2005 season and averaged 4.5 points and made 3.2 rebounds per game. He appeared in eleven games for the said team.
He began playing in the National Basketball Association after being drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 2005 NBA Draft. He was chosen as a 36th overall pick and was signed by the Bucks on August 23, 1005. However, Ilyasova did not appeared in any game for the team during the 2005-2006 seasons and instead played for the D-League team Tulse 66ers. He appeared in 46 games for the team and made 12.5 points and 7.0 RPG.
He finally played his very first game in NBA on November 1, 2006; but at the end of the 2006 season, he went to the Liga ACB and Euroleague to play for the FC Barcelona team.
He went back to play for the Bucks in NBA in July 2009. He also played for the Turkish National team and was awarded as the FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship’s Most Valuable Player.
