Ernie Vandeweghe (full name: Ernest Maurice Vandeweghe Jr.; Ernie, Doc) played Forward-Guard from 1950 until 1956 for the New York Knickerbockers. Over 6 seasons, he played 224 games, scored 2135 points (9.5 ppg) and grabbed 834 rebounds (3.7 rpg). Vandeweghe also dished out 548 assists (2.4 apg), made steals (0.0 spg), and blocked shots (0.0 bpg) during his career. Born in Montreal, Canada on September 12, 1928, Vandeweghe stands 6-3 and weighs 195 lbs. He attended high school at Oceanside in Oceanside, New York and college at Colgate University. He was drafted by the New York Knickerbockers in the 3rd round of the 1949 BAA draft.
