Eric Wright is an American pro football player and is currently playing as cornerback for the Cleveland Browns. He was born on July 24, 1985 in San Francisco, California and took his college education when he attended the University of Southern California before transferring to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he both played college football.
Wright attended the University of Southern California for two years where he was redshirted during his freshman year. The following year, during his sophomore, Wright became a starter in the cornerback position and even started in the 2005 Orange Bowl game, where he was able to record four tackles and an interception. After having some off-field issues, Wright transferred to the University of Nevada where he played for only one year before deciding to declare his eligibility for the NFL Draft.
Wright’s pro football career began after he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns during the 2007 NFL Draft where he was a second round pick of the team. In his rookie season with the Browns, Wright started in thirteen of the Browns sixteen games and recorded his first career interception on October 14, 2007.
