About Eric Vail:
Eric Vail (full name: Eric Vail; no nicknames) played left wing from 1974 until 1982 for the Atlanta Flames, Calgary Flames and Detroit Red Wings. He played for the Flames from 1974 - 1980, Flames from 1981 - 1982 and Red Wings in 1982. Over 9 seasons, he played 591 games, scored 216 goals, and made 260 assists. Born in Timmins, Ontario on September 16, 1953, Vail stands 6-1 and weighs 220 lbs. He was drafted by the Atlanta Flames in the 2nd round (21st overall) of the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft.
