Eric Tipton (full name: Eric Gordon Tipton; Dukie and Blue Devil) played leftfielder from 1939 until 1945 for the Philadelphia Athletics and Cincinnati Reds. He played for the Athletics from 1939 - 1941 and Reds from 1942 - 1945. Over 7 seasons, he played 501 games, hit 22 home runs, drove in 212 runs, and stole 20 bases. Born on April 20, 1915 in Petersburg, VA, Tipton stood 5' 11" and weighed 190 lb. He attended Petersburg (Petersburg, VA) high school.
