 Eric Patterson is a Major League Baseball player who is the brother of another MLB athlete, Corey Patterson. He is a product of Harrison High School where he first showcased his baseball skills which caught the attention of a few Major League Baseball teams. He was originally selected by the Colorado Rockies in the Major League Baseball Draft in 2001 but opted not to sign with the team because he prioritized going to Georgia Institute of Technology at first. There, he had his college baseball experience and was included to the Atlantic Coast Conference and was given honors in that league. He was named to the All-Star team for three seasons and to the prominent USA Baseball for two times. After his celebrated career with the Georgia Tech, he was again drafted to play in the Major League Baseball by the Chicago Cubs and this time, he signed with the team.

 

Patterson had a striking start in the majors and was able to have his first professional hit in 2007 and his first home run was on June 22, 2008.

 

After his stint with the Cubs, he was traded to the Oakland Athletics together with his co-Cub Sean Gallgher and a few other teammates. He spent the 2008 to 2010 seasons with the Athletics and has recently signed a deal with the Boston Red Sox.
