Elvin Hayes (full name: Elvin Ernest Hayes; The Big E) played Forward-Center from 1969 until 1984 for the San Diego Rockets, Houston Rockets, Baltimore Bullets, Capital Bullets and Washington Bullets. Over 16 seasons, he played 1303 games, scored 27313 points (21.0 ppg) and grabbed 16279 rebounds (12.5 rpg). Hayes also dished out 2398 assists (1.8 apg), made 864 steals (0.7 spg), and blocked 1771 shots (1.4 bpg) during his career. Born in Rayville, Louisiana on November 17, 1945, Hayes stands 6-9 and weighs 235 lbs. He attended high school at Eula D. Britton in Rayville, Louisiana and college at University of Houston. He was drafted by the San Diego Rockets in the 1st round (1st pick, 1st overall) of the 1968 NBA draft. He was inducted into Hall of Fame as Player in 1990.
