Elmer Valo (full name: Elmer William Valo; no nicknames) played rightfielder from 1940 until 1961 for the Philadelphia Athletics, Kansas City Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Dodgers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators, New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins. He played for the Athletics from 1940 - 1954, Athletics from 1955 - 1956, Phillies from 1956 - 1961, Dodgers in 1957, Dodgers in 1958, Indians in 1959, Senators in 1960, Yankees in 1960 and Twins in 1961. Over 20 seasons, he played 1806 games, hit 58 home runs, drove in 768 runs, and stole 110 bases. Born on March 5, 1921 in Rybnik, Czechoslovakia, Valo stood 5' 11" and weighed 190 lb.
