Elena Zamolodchikova a two-time Olympic gymnast was born in Moscow, Russia on September 19, 1962 and began gymnastics as young as the age of 6.
Her first senior competition was in the year 1999. It was the World Gymnastics Championships wherein she was able to won the gold in vault. In the 2000 European Championships that was held in Paris, Zamolodchikova created a bewildered performance. That move had inspired the viewers and her fans by her ability in the physical and psychological strength. In the same year, she was selected as a member of the Russian team to perform in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Zamolodchikova had 5 Olympic medal records that included the 2000 Floor Exercise where she won the gold medal, the 2000 Sydney Team Competition that she was able to won the silver medal and the 2004 Athens Team Competition that she was able to won the bronze medal. Zamolodchikova’s World Championships included 2 gold medals in the 1999 Tianjin Vault and the 2002 Debrecen Vault. She attained three silver medals namely in the 1999 Tianjin Team Competition, 2003 Anaheim and 2005 Melbourne Vault. The two bronze awards included the 1999 Tianjn All Around and the 2006 Aarhus Team Competition. Her European Championships included two gold medals, three silver awards and two bronze medals.
