Longtime Major League Baseball Player, Edgar Martinez was born on January 2, 1963 in New York, New York. He had spent his entire major league career with the Seattle Mariners in the American League West division. Martinez is regarded as the greatest designated hitter in history.
It was in 1982 when the Seattle Mariners signed him to a minor league contract. He had his major league debut in 1987 and became a fixture in the Mariners lineup in 1990. He then became a full-time designated hitter in 1995. In his eighteen seasons stay with the Mariners, he had made seven All-Star appearances, two batting titles, and five Silver Slugger awards leading to the recognition of Edgar Martinez hand signed name model bat.
