Eddie Waitkus (full name: Edward Stephen Waitkus; no nicknames) played first baseman from 1941 until 1955 for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles. He played for the Cubs from 1941 - 1948, Phillies from 1949 - 1955 and Orioles from 1954 - 1955. Over 11 seasons, he played 1140 games, hit 24 home runs, drove in 528 runs, and stole 28 bases. Born on September 4, 1919 in Cambridge, MA, Waitkus stood 6' 0" and weighed 170 lb. He attended Latin (Cambridge, MA) high school.
