Eddie Mathews (full name: Edwin Lee Mathews; no nicknames) played third baseman and first baseman from 1952 until 1968 for the Boston Braves, Milwaukee Braves, Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros and Detroit Tigers. He played for the Braves in 1952, Braves from 1953 - 1965, Braves in 1966, Astros in 1967 and Tigers from 1967 - 1968. Over 17 seasons, he played 2391 games, hit 512 home runs, drove in 1509 runs, and stole 68 bases. Born on October 13, 1931 in Texarkana, TX, Mathews stood 6' 1" and weighed 190 lb.
