Eddie Joost (full name: Edwin David Joost; no nicknames) played shortstop, second baseman and third baseman from 1936 until 1955 for the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Braves, Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox. He played for the Reds from 1936 - 1942, Braves from 1943 - 1945, Athletics from 1947 - 1954 and Red Sox in 1955. Over 17 seasons, he played 1574 games, hit 134 home runs, drove in 874 runs, and stole 61 bases. Born on June 5, 1916 in San Francisco, CA, Joost stands 6' 0" and weighs 175 lb. He attended Mission (San Francisco, CA) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on September 11, 1936 and he played his final game on September 25, 1955.
