Ed Bailey (full name: Lonas Edgar Bailey; no nicknames) played catcher from 1953 until 1966 for the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Redlegs, San Francisco Giants, Milwaukee Braves, Chicago Cubs and California Angels. He played for the Reds from 1953 - 1955, Redlegs from 1955 - 1961, Giants from 1961 - 1965, Braves in 1964, Cubs in 1965 and Angels in 1966. Over 14 seasons, he played 1212 games, hit 155 home runs, drove in 432 runs, and stole 17 bases. Born on April 15, 1931 in Strawberry Plains, TN, Bailey stood 6' 2" and weighed 205 lb. He attended Strong (Strawberry Plains, TN) high school. His debut was on September 26, 1953 and he played his final game on April 26, 1966. Over his career, Bailey made $65,500.
