Dwyane Wade, nicknamed “Flash,” is an American professional basketball player. He is currently lined up as shooting guard for the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. He took his college education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Wade is 6 ft. 4 in. and 220 lbs. He began his pro basketball career after he was drafted by the Miami Heat during the 2003 NBA Draft where he was the first round pick of the team. Wade swiftly emerged as a prolific player on the Heat averaging sixteen points, four rebounds and four assists in every game. Wade had further distinguished himself with excellent performances during the playoffs, for the most part against the Indiana Pacers in the Semi-finals of the Eastern Conference. Before the start of the 2004–05m seasons, Shaquille O'Neal was dealt from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Heat and this trade proved to have paid off when in the following season, Miami improved by seventeen games.

Wade has established himself as one of the most renowned and popular athlete in the NBA. To date, Wade has achieved numerous achievements in his pro career with the Heat. Among them were competing for six uninterrupted times for NBA All-Star Games from 2005 to 2010, being part of the Heat winning the NBA Championship in 2006, becoming NBA Scoring Champion in 2009, emerged as two time NBA Finals MVP in 2006 and 2010, and Sportsman of the Year in 2006 by Sports Illustrated.
