Larry DeWayne Wise is currently a professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball. Born on February 24, 1978 in Columbia, South Carolina, Wise went straight to the pro world after graduating from Chapin High School in 1997.

He was drafted in the 5th round of the 1997 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds. Without playing for any game for the Reds, Wise was then claimed by the Toronto Blue Jays on December 1999. His first game for the Blue Jays was on August 6, 2000 against the Texas Rangers. In 2002 , he made his 1st home run. Upon entering free agency in 2003, he signed with the Atlanta Braves, after which he signed with the Detroit Tigers. He then signed with the Cincinnati Reds for the 2006 season before being released on October 2007. He finally signed with the Chicago White Sox and in a game against the Minnesota Twins and played a major role that led the White Sox win against the Twins. On September 2008, Wise was also crucial to the team’s win against the Detroit Tigers. After helping the White Sox in several more games, he opted to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies then back to the Blue Jays in 2010. At present, Wise’s batting average is at .217, with 18 home runs and 68 runs batted in.
