Duce Staley is famous for his tenures with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers leading to the acknowledgement of Duce Staley signed Steelers Riddell mini helmet. He was born on February 27, 1975 in Tampa, Florida.
When he was in high school, he had studied at the Airport High School in Columbia, South Carolina and became an All-State running back. In college, he attended University of South Carolina. When he was a senior, he ranked 13th in the nation in rushing with 1,116 powerful rushing yards. Staley caught 59 passes for 489 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was first drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1997 and stayed with the team until 2003 season. It was in 2004 when Staley became the number one running back for Pittsburgh Steelers making the Duce Staley signed Steelers Riddell mini helmet a valuable piece. Staley was unfortunately injured in the middle of the 2004 season and Jerome Bettis took over his starting job.
It was in 2005 when Staley and Bettis were both injured. Staley managed only 148 yards in 5 games with a 3.9 yard per carry average. Even if this unfortunate event happened, he still made it to the Steelers’ 53-man roster in 2006 where he ran for just about 92 yards on 42 carries. Just a week after the event, the Steelers replaced Staley with Najeh Davenport, a former running back of the Packers. It was on December 3, 2006 when Staley was released by the Steelers. During his three-year tenure, he was able to play for 16 games only.
