Doug Konieczny (full name: Douglas James Konieczny; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1973 until 1977 for the Houston Astros. He played for the Astros from 1973 - 1977. Over 4 seasons, he started 38 games, won 7 games, struck out 110 batters, and had a 4.93 ERA. Born on September 27, 1951 in Detroit, MI, Konieczny stands 6' 4" and weighs 220 lb. He attended St. Ladislaus (Hamtramck, MI) high school and was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 1st round (4th pick) of the 1971 amateur draft (January Secondary). His debut was on September 11, 1973 and he played his final game on April 30, 1977. Common misspellings of his name include Douglas Doug James Konieczny.
