From 1996 to 2004, the National Football League had heard of the name Donnie Abraham. Nathaniel Donnel Abraham, or simply called Donnie, is a retired football player who had the chance to play for two NFL teams: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996 to 2001, and The New York Jets from 2001 to 2004. He came from South Carolina and was born on October 8, 1973.
In the third round of the 2006 NFL draft, Donnie Abraham, a college student from East Tennessee State, was the number 71 pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Other draftees who joined him were
Moe Williams, a previous running back for the Minnesota Vikings, and
Roman Oben, the previous offensive tackle of the New York Giants. In his nine seasons as a cornerback, he was able to achieve a total of 155 tackles.
One major leap in his NFL career occurred in 1999. He pushed the Buccaneers to a good level by having seven interceptions. Another accomplishment was in 2001 when he was selected to be a part of the Pro Bowl. He played side by side
John Lynch, holding the strong safety position, and
Stephen Davis, the running back. In his last season with the NFL, Abraham and his team the New York Jets, finished second in the American Football Conference making the New England Patriots the AFC champions.
