Don Werner (full name: Donald Paul Werner; no nicknames) played catcher from 1975 until 1982 for the Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers. He played for the Reds from 1975 - 1980 and Rangers from 1981 - 1982. Over 7 seasons, he played 118 games, hit 2 home runs, drove in 17 runs, and stole 2 bases. Born on March 8, 1953 in Appleton, WI, Werner stands 6' 1" and weighs 175 lb. He attended East (Appleton, WI) high school and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 5th round of the 1971 amateur draft. His debut was on September 2, 1975 and he played his final game on September 19, 1982. Common misspellings of his name include Donald dave Don donald Paul Werner.
