He played for the Cardinals from 1937 - 1941, Braves in 1946, Dodgers in 1946 and Phillies from 1947 - 1948. Over 8 seasons, he played 699 games, hit 37 home runs, drove in 247 runs, and stole 6 bases. Born on December 5, 1911 in Caroleen, NC, Padgett stood 6' 0" and weighed 190 lb. He attended high school.
