About Doc Medich:

Doc Medich (full name: George Francis Medich; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1972 until 1982 for the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers. He played for the Yankees from 1972 - 1975, Pirates in 1976, Mariners in 1977, Mets in 1977, Athletics in 1977, Rangers from 1978 - 1982 and Brewers in 1982. Over 11 seasons, he started 287 games, won 124 games, struck out 955 batters, and had a 3.78 ERA. Born on December 9, 1948 in Aliquippa, PA, Medich stands 6' 5" and weighs 225 lb. He attended high school and was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 30th round of the 1970 amateur draft. His debut was on September 5, 1972 and he played his final game on October 2, 1982. Over his career, Medich made $1,064,000. Common misspellings of his name include George Doc Francis george Medich.
