He played for the Pirates in 1947, Reds from 1949 - 1952 and Dodgers from 1953 - 1956. Over 8 seasons, he played 340 games, hit 12 home runs, drove in 98 runs, and stole 1 bases. Born on April 24, 1920 in Louisville, KY, Howell stood 5' 11" and weighed 190 lb. He attended Male (Louisville, KY) high school.
