Dick Selma (full name: Richard Jay Selma; Mortimer Snerd) played pitcher from 1965 until 1974 for the New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, California Angels and Milwaukee Brewers. He played for the Mets from 1965 - 1968, Cubs in 1969, Padres in 1969, Phillies from 1970 - 1973, Angels in 1974 and Brewers in 1974. Over 10 seasons, he started 76 games, won 42 games, struck out 681 batters, and had a 3.62 ERA. Born on November 4, 1943 in Santa Ana, CA, Selma stood 5' 11" and weighed 160 lb. He attended Fresno (Fresno, CA) high school. His debut was on September 2, 1965 and he played his final game on August 9, 1974. Over his career, Selma made $38,000. Common misspellings of his name include Mortimer Richard Dick Jay Snerd Selma.
