Dick Brown (full name: Richard Ernest Brown; no nicknames) played catcher from 1957 until 1965 for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles. He played for the Indians from 1957 - 1959, White Sox in 1960, Tigers from 1961 - 1962 and Orioles from 1963 - 1965. Over 9 seasons, he played 636 games, hit 62 home runs, drove in 175 runs, and stole 7 bases. Born on January 17, 1935 in Shinnston, WV, Brown stood 6' 2" and weighed 176 lb. He attended Holy Name (Lake Worth, FL) high school. His debut was on June 20, 1957 and he played his final game on October 3, 1965. Common misspellings of his name include Richard Dick Ernest Brown.
