Derek Plante (full name: Derek Plante; no nicknames) played center from 1994 until 2001 for the Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers. He played for the Sabres from 1994 - 1999, Stars from 1999 - 2000, Blackhawks in 2000 and Flyers in 2001. Over 8 seasons, he played 450 games, scored 96 goals, and made 152 assists. Born in Cloquet, Minnesota on January 17, 1971, Plante stands 5-11 and weighs 181 lbs. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 8th round (161st overall) of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft.
