He started as an outfielder of the Oakland Athletics and played in the minor leagues. His fist MLB appearance for the Oakland Athletics was on September 7, 1975. He was then traded in 1988 in exchange for
Bob Forsch to the St. Louis Cardinals. After his stint with the Cardinals he became a free agent and signed for the Texas Rangers in 1991 and went back to the
Houston Astros where he last appeared in the baseball field on April 10, 1992.
After his baseball career, he was busy with the Oakland Athletics as a hitting coach in 1996 up to 1998; then for the New York Mets in 2002 to 2004.He is currently the roving minor league instructor of the
