Delonte West was born at Washington D.C. on July 26, 1983. His career developed at Eleanor Roosevelt High School and excelled playing basketball. He led the team to its first tournament appearance, made it to the Maryland 4A. He scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Sad to say they lost with the score of 70-58. Named by the Washington Post as the All Men Basketball Player of the year, he averaged 20.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.1 steals per game.

 

He is one of the best backcourts in Saint Joseph’s University along with Wooden, and Jameer Nelson.

With his efforts the team got a record of 27-1 for the regular season, earned a spot at the elite eight in NCAA tournament and finished with the overall record of 30-2.

 

In 2004 NBA Annual drafted as the 24th pick by the Boston Celtics in 2004. He played for the Celtics until 2007 before traded to the Seattle Supersonics along with Jeff Green and Wally Szczerbiak for Ray Allen and 35th pick Glen Davis. On 2008 there has been a three-team trade that sent him along with Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, and Wally Szczerbiak to the Cleveland Cavaliers. As a key addition to Cleveland he scored almost 10.3 points, 4.5 assist, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assist.

He was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the 1st round (24th pick, 24th overall) of the 2004 NBA draft.
