About Dave Winfield Memorabilia & Collectibles
Dave Winfield is a former American pro baseball athlete who hailed from St. Paul, Minnesota and played as right fielder for the San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, California Angels, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians of the Major League Baseball. Winfield graduated from Central High School in St. Paul. Winfield then took his higher education attending the University of Minnesota and was drafted out by the San Diego Padres in the 1973 amateur draft.
Right after the draft, Winfield immediately made his pro debut on June 19, 1973. He played for eight seasons with the Padres until he was released on October 1980. In 1981, New York Yankees signed Winfield to a 10-year contract. Winfield became one of the best players in the game throughout his stint with the Yankees, and had brought the Yankees to the 1981 American League pennant.
Upon the end the his Yankee contract, Winfield was still a productive hitter and in 1991, he signed with the Toronto Blue Jays before joining the Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians where he had his final game on October 1, 1995. Throughout his twenty three year career, Winfield made numerous career highlights such as being an All-Star selection for twelve consecutive years, 1992 World Series champion with the Blue Jays, being seven-time Gold Glove Award winner and six-time Silver Slugger Award winner
