About Dave Cowens:
Dave Cowens (full name: David William Cowens; Dave, Big Red) played Center-Forward from 1971 until 1983 for the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks. Over 11 seasons, he played 766 games, scored 13516 points (17.6 ppg) and grabbed 10444 rebounds (13.6 rpg). Cowens also dished out 2910 assists (3.8 apg), made 599 steals (0.8 spg), and blocked 488 shots (0.6 bpg) during his career. Born in Newport, Kentucky on October 25, 1948, Cowens stands 6-9 and weighs 230 lbs. He attended high school at Central Catholic in Newport, Kentucky and college at Florida State University. He was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the 1st round (4th pick, 4th overall) of the 1970 NBA draft. He was inducted into Hall of Fame as Player in 1991.
