About Dave Babych Memorabilia & Collectibles

A retired ice hockey player, David Michael Babych better known as Dave Babych was born on May 23, 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He played as a defenseman in the National Hockey League. He is also recognized with his elder brother, Wayne Babych, who also happened to be his brother-in law, since both their wives are twins.

Dave Babych has played for several hockey teams. These are the Winnipeg Jets, Vancouver Canucks, Hartford Whalers, Philadelphia Flyers and the Los Angeles Kings. He debuted in 1980 for the Jets where he got picked during the 2nd overall entry draft. He got spotted for an NHL career due to his outstanding performance in the Western League where he played for the Portland Winter Hawks. Together with his brother Wayne, he had been considered as the highest-drafted player in the history of NHL, breaking the record set by former players namely Daniel and Henrik Sedin and also the Turgeon brothers, Pierre and Sylvain.

Dave Babych was honored with his remarkable performances having been played several times in All-Star games.  He would usually lead his team to victorious playoffs standings and was even able to put off the title established formerly by the Edmonton Oilers. In the 1985-86 seasons, Babych was traded for Ray Neufield and was placed under the Whalers. However, this did not stop Dave Babych from performing excellently. He got his second-highest score stat during his stay with the Hartford Whalers where he also got the team’s honor as its main defender.

Aside from his amazing hockey career period, Dave Babych also got into the big screen by having a small part in the Slap Shot 2: Breaking the Ice, an American Sports Movie in the year 2002. Have Dave Babych’s taste of success by getting one of his memorabilia and collectibles online.
