Darius Kasparaitis (full name: Darius Kasparaitis; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1993 until 2007 for the New York Islanders, Pittsburgh Penguins, Colorado Avalanche and New York Rangers. He played for the Islanders from 1993 - 1997, Penguins from 1997 - 2002, Avalanche in 2002 and Rangers from 2003 - 2007. Over 14 seasons, he played 863 games, scored 27 goals, and made 136 assists. Born in Elektrenai, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on October 16, 1972, Kasparaitis stands 5-11 and weighs 215 lbs. He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1st round (5th overall) of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.
