Danny Wuerffel is a retired American pro football athlete who played as quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers Chicago Bears and the Washington Redskins of the National Football League and for the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe. Wuerffel was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and took his college education when he attended the University of Florida where he also played college football for the Florida Gators football team from 1993 to 1996.
Wuerffel was a success during his college football career, he was a two-time Davey O'Brien Award Winner in 1995 and in 1996; he was also a Draddy Trophy, Heisman Trophy, Johnny Unitas Award, Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Award winner in 1996; and 1996 NCAA Quarterback of the Year. Wuerffel led the Florida Gators to four consecutive Southeastern Conference titles between 1993 and 1996 seasons, including the 1996 national championship.
Wuerffel’s pro football career began after he was drafted by the New Orleans Saints during the 1997 NFL Draft being the fourth round pick of the team. After spending six seasons in the NFL for the Saints, Packers, Bears, and Redskins, Wuerffel retired. One best part of Wuerffel’s pro career was being named MVP in the 2000 World Bowl while playing for Rhein Fire in NFL Europe.

Danny Wuerffel (fullname: Daniel Carl Wuerffel; no nicknames) played from 1997 until 2002 for the New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins. He played 25 games, starting 10 of those. Born in Fort Walton Beach, FL on May 27, 1974, Wuerffel stands 6'1 and weighs 212 lbs. He attended college at Florida. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 4th round (99th overall) of the 1997 NFL Draft.
