Danny O'Connell (full name: Daniel Francis O'Connell; no nicknames) played second baseman, third baseman and shortstop from 1950 until 1962 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Braves, New York Giants, San Francisco Giants and Washington Senators. He played for the Pirates from 1950 - 1953, Braves from 1954 - 1957, Giants in 1957, Giants from 1958 - 1959 and Senators from 1961 - 1962. Over 10 seasons, he played 1143 games, hit 39 home runs, drove in 527 runs, and stole 48 bases. Born on January 21, 1927 in Paterson, NJ, O'Connell stood 5' 11" and weighed 168 lb. He attended St. Bonaventure (Paterson, NJ) high school. His debut was on July 14, 1950 and he played his final game on September 26, 1962.
