Daniela Hantuchova, a professional tennis player, was born on April 23, 1983. She started playing professionally in 1999 and reviews say she became popular in 2002 after winning in the Tier I Tournament. She won more than a few titles which include three Women’s Tennis Association tournaments, Filderstadt in 2002, and numerous Garand Slam titles. She was a semifinalist in the 2008 Australian Open and US Open in 2002. She had chances at three Grand Slam doubles finals and also in the Mixed Doubles Grand Slam.
As part of a team, her achievements include 2000 Eurotel Doubles Championship, 2002 Fed Cup Championship, 2004 Hopman Cup Finalist and 2004 Athens Olympic Games finalist. She also bagged the 2005 Hopman Cup Championship with Dominik Hrbaty and the played at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Among her special accomplishments were the 2001 Women’s Tennis Association Newcomer of the Year Award and she is also a recipient of the 2002 WTA Most Improved Player of the Year Award. Hantuchova is also a 2003 Laureus World Sports Academy Award nominee for the title of World Newcomer of the Year.
Currently, her coach is Larri Passos and her WTA adviser was Martina Navratilova who worked with her for a short period of time. Hantuchova is the World No. 25 singles player as of June 7, 2010.
