Curtis Leschyshyn (full name: Curtis Leschyshyn; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1989 until 2004 for the Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes, Minnesota Wild and Ottawa Senators. He played for the Nordiques from 1989 - 1995, Avalanche from 1996 - 1997, Capitals in 1997, Whalers in 1997, Hurricanes from 1998 - 2000, Wild in 2001 and Senators from 2001 - 2004. Over 16 seasons, he played 1033 games, scored 47 goals, and made 165 assists. Born in Thompson, Manitoba on September 21, 1969, Leschyshyn stands 6-1 and weighs 207 lbs. He was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1st round (3rd overall) of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. Leschyshyn officially announced retirement on October 3, 2005.
