 Cristian Antonio Guzman is a baseball shortstop who was born on March 21, 1978 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was first included to the Minnesota Twins after playing for the New York Yankees in 1998. He was an All-Star American League selection in 2001 where he made remarkable performances giving him a batting average of .302 and a record of 10 home runs. From 2002-2004, their team won titles at the American League Central. In 2000, he was the top player with most number of triples in the American League with 20 and made 14 triples in 2001.

 

According to reviews, 2005 was not a good season for Guzman at the beginning with only .192 batting average when he signed with the Washington Nationals. However, in September that year, he was able to recover and made a .325 batting average. After that season, he underwent eye surgery.

 

In 2006, he did not appear in games much because of an injury but played for the Nationals again in the next year.

 

2008 was a very memorable season for Guzman because he was able to achieve his first hit and first run in the Nationals Park that season. He played for the All-Star team and made a hit for the cycle against the Dodgers on August 28, 2008.
