About Craig Hartsburg Memorabilia & Collectibles

 Craig Hartsburg is a former professional hockey player and was born in Stratford, Ontario in Canada. Hartsburg also served as coach in the Ontario Hockey League and in the National Hockey League. Hartsburg spent ten seasons in the league playing for the Minnesota North Stars. He was named the captain of the ten for seven seasons. Presently, Hartsburg is serving as head coach in the Western Hockey League for the Everett Silvertips.

 

He was playing for the junior hockey team of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds with famous player Wayne Gretzky before he decided to play in the Western Hockey League for the Birmingham Bulls. He became eligible to participate in the NHL Entry Draft and was made the sixth overall pick by the Minnesota North Stars in 1979.

 

Hartsburg played as defenseman for the Minnesota North Stars during his entire stay in the NHL. He appeared in a total of 570 games, and was able to post 98 goals and 413 points in total. During the 1981 season, he finished fourth in the voting for the Norris Trophy. He was named into three NHL All-Star Games.

 

Aside from playing in the NHL, Hartsburg also played in a number of international tournaments including the 1981 and the 1987 Canada Cups. He also participated in the 1987 IIHF World Championships and was honored as the best defenseman in the tournament.
