Cory Redding is a professional football player who is currently appearing in the National Football League. He played as a defensive lineman of the Detroit Tigers which drafted him in the National Football League Draft in 2003. Before he joined the NFL, he practiced his defense skills in North Shore High School where he had a stellar football career. He was awarded as the Defensive Player of the Year by the USA Today publication and was included to the All-American team. Aside from being a varsity athlete, he also played track and field in the said high school.
He had his college football career in University of Texas. As part of the Texas Longhorns, he was included in the All-Big 12 Conference team and appeared in 35 games as a starter. He wrapped up his college career with 201 tackles and 53 stops.
His professional career started in 2005 as he played 16 games for the Lions. He was recognized as one of the best players who make passing rushes in the 2006 season. He also became part of the Seattle Mariners and is currently part of the Baltimore Ravens. As of week 17 of the 2009 season, statistics shows that he made 220 tackles and 18.0 sacks in his career.
