Cookie Lavagetto (full name: Harry Arthur Lavagetto; no nicknames) played third baseman and second baseman from 1934 until 1947 for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Pirates from 1934 - 1936 and Dodgers from 1937 - 1947. Over 10 seasons, he played 1043 games, hit 40 home runs, drove in 487 runs, and stole 63 bases. Born on December 1, 1912 in Oakland, CA, Lavagetto stood 6' 0" and weighed 170 lb. He attended Oakland Technical (Oakland, CA) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 17, 1934 and he played his final game on September 28, 1947. Over his career, Lavagetto made $2,400. Common misspellings of his name include Attilio Harry Arthur Cookie H.
