Cody Ransom is a professional baseball player who is currently part of the Philadelphia Phillies team. He was a baseball varsity athlete at Chandler High School in Arizona where he first showcased his baseball skills particularly his infielding abilities. After his high school career, he was chosen by the Cleveland Indians to play for the team in the Major League Baseball but did not pursue his MLB career with the team and instead went to South Mountain Community College where he became a baseball star. He had two seasons in the college and also played for the Mesa State University where he played significantly. He was able to play with the team in the Division II regional competition of the NCAA. He spent the 1998 season with the Grand Canyon University and continued to play remarkably, even helping the team in its victory in the Western Athletic Conference Northern Division.
His professional career started with the San Francisco Giants which drafted him as a 9th round pick in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft in 1998. He had his first few seasons as a pro in the minor leagues. He had his first appearance in the Major League Baseball on September 5, 2001. Then, he played in the minors again. His first home run in the Major League Baseball came on August 8, 2003 in a game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He also became part of the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees. At present, he plays for the Philadelphia Phillies.
