Clyde McCullough (full name: Clyde Edward McCullough; no nicknames) played catcher from 1940 until 1956 for the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Cubs from 1940 - 1956 and Pirates from 1949 - 1952. Over 16 seasons, he played 1098 games, hit 52 home runs, drove in 308 runs, and stole 27 bases. Born on March 4, 1917 in Nashville, TN, McCullough stood 5' 11" and weighed 180 lb. He attended Hume Fogg (Nashville, TN) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 28, 1940 and he played his final game on July 22, 1956. Common misspellings of his name include Clyde Clyde Edward McCullough.
