Clinton Portis is a National Football League player who started out as a college football player in University of Miami. He is a graduate of Gainesville High School where he was offered scholarship to play in University of South Carolina. At Miami, he had a very successful season and had established records for making 100 yards and eight touchdowns. He also made 143 carries and 44 passing yards as a freshman. He continued to have a very remarkable career at the said university.
After his career in University of Miami, he started to play professionally in the National Football League. He was picked by the
Denver Broncos in the National Football League Draft in 2002. He stayed with the Broncos until 2003 and then moved to play for the
Washington Redskins in 2004. As of now, Portis is in the injured reserve players of the team after obtaining a head injury. He was given the National Football League Rookie of the Year award and was part of the Pro Bowl twice. As of 2009, he made 9, 676 rushing yards and averaged 4.5. He made 73 rushing TDs as of Week 17 of the 2009 season.
