Clay Kirby (full name: Clayton Laws Kirby; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1969 until 1976 for the San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds and Montreal Expos. He played for the Padres from 1969 - 1973, Reds from 1974 - 1975 and Expos in 1976. Over 8 seasons, he started 239 games, won 75 games, struck out 1061 batters, and had a 3.84 ERA. Born on June 25, 1948 in Washington, DC, Kirby stood 6' 3" and weighed 175 lb. He attended Washington & Lee (Arlington, VA) high school and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 3rd round of the 1966 amateur draft.
