Born on April 28, 2980, Christian Backman is a famous ice hockey professional positioned as a defenseman. He is Swedish of origin and was raised in Alingsas, Sweden. Backman is presently playing under the Swedish Elitserien for Frolunda HC, also known as the Frolunda Indians based in Gothenburg.
Christian Backman was picked during the National Hockey League’s Entry Draft in 1998 for the
St. Louis Blues. However, he just got his NHL contract three years after. He only had four games though with the Blues and spent most of his season with the Worcester Ice Cats which later changed its name to Peoria Rivermen from Illinois. The said team is a member of the American Hockey League. In August 2006, Backman was placed back to St. Louis Blues with a multi-year contract worth 7 million US dollars. Though not much detail was publicized regarding the contract, the abovementioned amount was said to be good for three years.
Two years later, Backman entered another team. This time, it’s the New York Rangers. Among Rangers’ row of excellent hockey players are Artem Anisimov from Russia,
