Chris Pronger is a National Hockey League player who became a member of the Philadelphia Flyers. He started playing hockey as a minor hockey player in Ontario where he spent his childhood years. He also spent a few seasons in the Ontario Hockey League before having his National Hockey League career. He was drafted to play in the National Hockey League in the draft of the 1993 season. He had a stint with the St. Louis Blues and the Anaheim Ducks, as well as for the Edmonton Oilers. He joined the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2009-2010 seasons. While playing for these teams, he has appeared in three Stanley Cups and had one win with the Anaheim Ducks in the 2007 season. He also received the Hart Trophy in the 1999-2000 seasons for being the Most Valuable Player of the year. Pronger also has the chance to play in a few All-Star teams.
Aside from the National Hockey Leagues, he also plays for the Team Canada and has represented the team in the Olympics and has won gold medals for the team. Recently, the team Canada bagged the gold medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics. Pronger also serves as an alternate captain of the Flyers. Pronger is also a recipient of the James Norris Memorial Trophy in the 2000 season.
