 Christopher Domenic Iannetta is a professional baseball player who is currently part of the Major League Baseball. Born on April 8, 1983 in Providence, Rhode Island, he went to St. Raphael Academy where he played high school baseball and received a number of recognitions in that institution. He was given All-State honors in that school for three times and was also awarded the C. Dona Manyard Award for his superb performance both in the filed and in the classroom.

 

In college, he went to University of North Carolina where he served as a catcher and played as a first base for the baseball team. He was included to the NCAA Starkville Regional All-Tournament Team during his sophomore year. In 2003, he was awarded as the Defensive Player of the Year as a member of the Newport Gulls of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

 

His Major League Baseball career started in 2004 as a 4th round pick of the Colorado Rockies. He spent most of the 2006 season in the minors playing for the double-A team Tulsa Drillers. He joined the majors in August and made his first career hit on August 27, 2006. According to reviews, he had a very good 2009 season. He also played as a starting catcher in the World Baseball Classic for the Team USA in 2009.
